New boiler installation in Coventry

A new boiler is a big purchase. Most people only buy a handful in their lifetime. So it pays to get the right one, sized for your home and fitted properly first time.

We start with a free survey at your property. We look at how many bathrooms you have, how much hot water you get through, where the boiler sits now and what state the pipework is in. Then we recommend the boiler that suits your home. Not the biggest one on the market.

Getting the size right matters more than most people think. Too small and you’re stood waiting for hot water every morning. Too big and you’re paying for power you’ll never use. So we size every boiler to the house and the people living in it.

All the boilers we fit are A-rated. The warranty runs anywhere from 5 to 12 years depending on the model, and we sort the registration for you. Torn between a repair and a new one? Ask us. We’d rather give you a straight answer than sell you a boiler you don’t need yet.

Boiler replacement in Coventry

Replacing an old boiler is most of what we do. A like-for-like swap usually takes one to two days. If you’re changing type, for example from a regular boiler with a tank in the loft to a combi, allow two to four days.

Before any work starts we’ll tell you if your system needs attention first. Then we fit the new boiler, set up your controls and show you how it all works.

Signs it's time for a new boiler

Mind you, a fault doesn’t always mean a new boiler. If fixing it makes more sense, we’ll say so.

Which boiler is right for your home?

Which one you need depends on the house, how many of you live there and how much hot water you all use at the same time.

Combi boilers

Heating and hot water straight from the boiler. No tank and no cylinder. A good fit for flats and smaller homes with one bathroom, and you only heat the water you actually use.

System boilers

There’s a hot water cylinder but no tank in the loft. Run the shower and the kitchen tap together and you’ll still get decent flow, so these suit houses with two or more bathrooms.

Regular boilers

You might hear them called conventional or heat-only. There’s a cylinder and a cold water tank, usually up in the loft. Got an older house with the original pipework, or low mains pressure? This is often the one to go for.

Boilers for Coventry homes

Coventry has a real mix of housing. Victorian and Edwardian terraces in places like Earlsdon and Chapelfields. Post-war semis from when the city was rebuilt. Newer estates on the edges and plenty of flats in and around the centre.

They don’t all need the same thing. In a two-bed terrace with one bathroom, a combi usually does the job. A family home with an en suite is different. You’ll probably want a system boiler and cylinder so the hot water keeps up. Older properties sometimes have pipework that needs work first. We check all of this at the survey, so there are no surprises on the day.

Thinking about moving away from gas? Take a look at our heat pump installation in Coventry page. We can talk you through both options. Once your new boiler is in, our boiler servicing and boiler care plans keep it running well.

Boiler installation FAQs

That comes down to the boiler, its size and how much work the system needs. Swapping a combi for a combi costs less than converting a regular system to a combi. Once we’ve done the free survey you’ll get a fixed price.

Most straight swaps are done in a day or two. Changing to a different type is a bigger job, so think two to four days.

For a short while, yes. We plan the work to keep that time as short as we can and often have the heating back on the same day.

Not always. If your radiators are old or not heating properly, we may suggest replacing some of them so you get the most from your new boiler.

Yes. All of our engineers are fully qualified and Gas Safe registered.

You’ll get the manufacturer’s warranty, which is 5 to 12 years depending on which boiler you pick. Keep up the yearly service and it normally stays valid.

Maybe. A heat pump works best in a well insulated house, and there’s a £7,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant you might qualify for. We’re happy to talk through both when we come out for the survey.
